Gordon Bajnai, Minister for National Development and Economics having received
many applications from Hungarian towns to house the planned facility of Indian
Apollo Tyres Ltd. initiated a declaration, that has been signed by 27 municipalities
in the first two days. In their joint statement the undersigned Hungarian towns
express their intention to welcome Apollo’s investment at their industrial parks,
after negotiations have failed to secure the development in the Hungarian town
of Gyongyos. Minister Bajnai has also announced to launch the Towns for Investments
Movement, that aims at educating municipalities and exploring their capabilities
in attracting more foreign direct investment.
