Breakthrough in the International Trade of the Hungarian Anti Influenza Vaccine: Hungarian Anti-Influenza Vaccine Is To Be Produced in Egypt
2008.11.03. monday 16:04

Technology for producing the human influenza vaccine, invented in Hungary, is bought by Egyptian corporation Vacsera. The agreement was signed on a business forum held after the statutory meeting of Hungarian-Egyptian Economic Joint Commission 3rd November 2008, in Cairo.

A two-year-long negotiation period had taken place before signing the agreement between the two partners, Hungarian Omninvest Ltd. and Egyptian Vacsera Corporation. According to the agreement Vacsera buys the producing technology of the Hungarian invented vaccine from Omninvest.

Vacsera Corporation is the only firm in Egypt, which produces vaccines and biological products.

By the end of a two-year-long R&I cooperation period, the Egyptian partner will have had a full producing capacity, which will be able to cover not only the demands for seasonal vaccines, but the needs of a widespread epidemic in Egypt as well. Its capacity will also be able to manufacture the vaccine against the H5N1 virus. Vacsera Corporation will be able to store bigger supplies of different vaccines, too.

Hungarian corporation, Omninvest Ltd., continues negotiating with other countries as well, but it was the first time, that full producing technology has been sold to an other partner. Previously only the vaccine had been disposed. – emphasised Ábel Garamhegyi, State Secretariat of the Ministry of National Development and Economy.
